Guangzhou Automobile Group (HKG:2238, SHA:601238), or GAC, will open 600 new branches by the end of 2026 amid a plan to rejig its dealership strategy, Nikkei Asia reported Thursday, citing deputy general manager Huang Yongqiang.
The dealerships will carry all three of GAC's main brands, according to the report, citing Huang.
As competition in the auto sector intensifies, GAC is looking to deliver on "experience" to customers, the report said.
"There's a gap between the service and customer experience we offer and those of industry leaders," Nikkei quoted Huang as saying.
