Nissan Motor Co. announced Tuesday that it plans to increase shipments of Nismo cars, produced by its subsidiary, by 50% by 2028. It will also strengthen global expansion.
Nismo vehicles are manufactured by Nissan Motorsports & Customizing Co., which currently produces five models, including a modified version of the Note Aura compact car. By 2028, Nissan Motor aims to double the number of models to 10, as well as expand shipments from around 100,000 units per year at present to 150,000 units. The company will also sell a greater share of its cars overseas, including in Europe, the United States and the Middle East, aiming to raise such sales from roughly 40% of the total to over 60%.
