Playmates Toys (HKG:0869) said its wholly owned subsidiary has been notified that a licensing agreement with Viacom Media Networks will not be renewed beyond Dec. 31, 2026, according to a Tuesday Hong Kong bourse filing.
Shares of the company were down nearly 14% in Wednesday morning trade.
Under the agreement, Playmates International Company has the rights to design, manufacture, distribute, and sell Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles products, which will lapse at the end of 2026, with a 90-day inventory disposal period thereafter.
The board said it is assessing the financial impact of the non-renewal, the filing showed.
