OTTAWA, Dec 22 (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Monday said former BlackRock executive Mark Wiseman would be the new ambassador to the United States, where he will focus on President Donald Trump's tariffs.
Wiseman will take up his post next February and replaces Kirsten Hillman, a career service diplomat who announced she would be leaving after more than five years in the post.
"Mr. Wiseman will be a key contributor to the government’s efforts to advance Canada-U.S. priorities, including secure borders (and) a strengthened trade and investment relationship," Carney said in a statement.
