-- Stocks typically enjoy a so-called Santa Claus Rally in the period spanning the last five trading days of the year and the first two of the next.
-- For 2025-2026, that period will run from this Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Monday, Jan. 5.
-- Both last year and in 2023, there were Santa Claus Selloffs, rather than rallies. In 2024, major indexes slipped between 0.4% and 0.7%. The Dow industrials notched its first decline in nine years over the period.
