Gold Miners' Shares Mixed on Safe-Haven Demand, Rate-Cut Bets

Shares of Newmont (ASX:NEM) fell around 1%, while Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) and Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN) each rose about 1% in Wednesday trade, supported by strong gold demand amid safe-haven buying, expectations of US rate cuts, a weaker dollar, and ongoing central bank support.

Spot gold rose 1.1% to about $4,493 per ounce after hitting a record $4,498.
