MT Newswires Live12-22 19:28

Eni (E) said Monday its Versalis chemical company and Prysmian have signed a collaboration to recycle plastic cable scrap.

Financial details weren't disclosed.

Under the terms, Prysmian will collect plastic scrap from its own production and decommissioned cables from major clients, while Versalis will use its Hoop technology at its Italian site to convert the scrap first into a pyrolysis oil, and then into a new material for new plastic polymers, the energy tech company said.

Eni said that Prysmian will use these polymers to produce new cables.
