Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Advance in Tuesday Trading

Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were rising on Tuesday morning, up 0.2% to 2,716.64 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by electric vehicle manufacturers Nio (NIO) and Xpeng (XPEV), which climbed 6.2% and 5.9% respectively.

They were followed by technology company Baidu (BIDU), which added 4.7%.

The decliners from North Asia were led by clinical-stage biotechnology company Adlai Nortye (ANL) and e-commerce company Vipshop (VIPS), which fell 11% and 3.9% respectively.

They were followed by insurance platform Waterdrop (WDH), which declined 3.2%.

From South Asia, the gainers were led by financial services company HDFC Bank (HDB), which added 0.3%.

The decliners from South Asia were led by tech company Wipro (WIT), which dropped 1.2%, followed by telecommunications company PLDT (PHI), which shed 0.2%.
