Sector Update: Financial Stocks Edge Higher Pre-Bell Wednesday

Financial stocks were edging higher pre-bell Wednesday, with the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) advancing by 0.1%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 0.2% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.3% lower.

Goldman Sachs (GS) is leading financing for a Texas project to develop private power campuses for artificial intelligence, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing developer GridFree AI. Goldman Sachs shares were 0.2% higher premarket.

Flushing Financial's (FFIC) proposed merger with OceanFirst Financial (OCFC) faces "inherent deal risk" even in a favorable regulatory backdrop for approval, Raymond James said. Shares of Flushing Financial were nearly 2% higher premarket.
