Coupang plans to offer vouchers worth more than $1 billion to customers affected by South Korea's largest data breach, covering up to 33.7 million accounts, Bloomberg reported Monday.
The online retailer will provide vouchers of up to 50,000 won per customer, spread across its core shopping service, food delivery, travel products and luxury beauty platform R.LUX, according to the report.
The breach has triggered a government probe and political scrutiny. Coupang has identified a former employee who allegedly accessed data from about 33 million accounts and retained information linked to roughly 3,000 of them, the report said.
