Health care stocks were mixed Friday afternoon, with the NYSE Health Care Index fractionally higher and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) easing 0.1%.
The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) was down 0.6%.
In corporate news, Ironwood Pharmaceuticals (IRWD) shares jumped 29% after the company said it expects sales of its irritable bowel syndrome with constipation or chronic constipation treatment, Linzess, in the US to be higher this year compared with 2025.
Outlook Therapeutics (OTLK) shares fell 58% after the company said Wednesday the US Food and Drug Administration has issued a complete response letter for its ONS-5010 biologics license application resubmission.
Hoth Therapeutics (HOTH) shares climbed 4.4% after it said Friday it has filed two US provisional patent applications aimed at expanding its intellectual property portfolio and establishing an oncology-focused dermatology platform.
