Dow Jones01-03

1347 ET - WSP's acquisition of TRC Companies makes it the largest engineering consultancy firm in the U.S., opening up its runway in to develop in its markets. BMO's Devin Dodge says in a report that the $3.3 billion acquisition of the U.S. power-and-energy engineering and consulting firm "will augment its leading position in transportation & infrastructure, property & buildings and environmental end-markets." Adding TRC should also be meaningfully accretive to adjusted EPS, Dodge says, with added synergies of $50 million which represent about 3% of its net revenue. "Management expects the accretion to adjusted EPS to be high single digits once cost synergies are fully realized" by the end of 2027, the analyst says. (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
