Petrobras (PBR) began oil output from the P-78 floating production, storage, and offloading vessel on Wednesday in the Buzios field in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin offshore Brazil.
The vessel has the capacity to produce 180,000 barrels of oil per day and compress 7.2 million cubic meters of gas per day, the company said Friday in a statement.
The P-78 is the seventh platform under the Buzios 6 project and will boost the field's installed capacity to 1.15 million barrels of oil per day.
