MT Newswires Live01-07

Meta Platforms (META) Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg announced that C.J. Mahoney will join the company as its new chief legal officer, Axios reported Tuesday, citing an internal post.

Mahoney succeeds Jennifer Newstead, who will be leaving Meta to be the general counsel at Apple (AAPL), according to the report.

Mahoney previously worked as a senior legal executive at Microsoft (MSFT) and as deputy US Trade Representative under President Donald Trump's first term, the report said.

Meta did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
