St George Mining (ASX:SGQ) discovered high-grade niobium outside the mineral resource estimate at the Araxa project in Brazil from expansion drill holes in the northern section of the project area, and to the west of the existing mineral resource footprint, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
It encountered intercepts of 81.5 meters at 1.3% grade of niobium oxide from surface, including grades up to 7.2% of niobium oxide.
The firm's shares jump nearly 2% in recent trading on Thursday.
