Image credit: Xpeng)\nXpeng (NYSE: XPEV, HKG: 9868) today rolled out updates for 4 models, kicking off its 2026 product cycle at the start of the year.\nThe Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker launched these four updated models at an event in Guangzhou today, including 1 sedan -- the P7+ -- and 3 SUVs (sport utility vehicles) -- the G6, G7, and G9.\nOne of the most significant changes is Xpeng adding extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options for the P7+ and G7, continuing its \"dual-powertrain\" strategy.\n\n\nJoin us on \nTelegram\n or \nGoogle News\n\n\nAdditionally, Xpeng has reintroduced paid smart driving packages as optional extras across all four updated models, resuming a practices that was stopped 4 years ago.\nIn the years following its founding, Xpeng offered advanced smart driving capabilities as paid upgrades, allowing consumers to purchase these features.\nIn May 2022, the company began equipping over half its models with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) as standard, later extending this to all models.\nFor today's four updated models, Xpeng now includes 1 in-house Turing AI chip as standard The chip delivers 750 TOPS of effective computing power, supporting smart driving functions powered by end-to-end large AI models.\nConsumers can pay extra to upgrade to the Ultra SE or Ultra smart driving package for enhanced capabilities.\nThe Ultra SE's hardware includes 2 Turing AI chips, supporting Xpeng's latest VLA 2.0 system to deliver entry-level L4 capabilities.\nThe Ultra's AI hardware features 3 Turing AI chips, supporting both the VLA 2.0 system and additional VLM (Vision-Language Models) capabilities.\nXpeng plans to begin rolling out the VLA 2.0 software update in March, delivering an autonomous driving experience approaching Level 4.\nIts domestic peer Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866) has offered paid autonomous driving features for years, though the company provides at least five years of complimentary usage with new vehicle purchases.\nLi Auto (NASDAQ: LI, HKG: 2015) has always offered its smart driving suite free of charge.\n2026 P7+\n\nThe 2026 P7+ sedan maintains its predecessor's starting price of RMB 186,800 ($26,750) while adding EREV options.\nThe updated P7+ will be launched in 36 countries and regions, Xpeng announced on Thursday. The company has now entered 60 countries and regions.\nThe P7+ was initially launched in China on November 7, 2024, with only battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions available previously.\nThe updated P7+ BEV offers two variants -- 615 Max and 725 Max -- starting at RMB 186,800 and RMB 198,800 respectively.\nThey feature battery packs with capacities of 61.7 kWh and 74.9 kWh, delivering CLTC ranges of 615 km and 725 km respectively.\nThe P7+ EREV also offers two variants, priced starting at RMB 186,800 and RMB 198,800 respectively.\nBoth EREV variants feature a 49.2-kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC range of 430 kilometers, making them among the EREVs with the longest battery range available in the Chinese market.\nThey are equipped with a 45-liter fuel tank, achieving a combined CLTC range of 1,550 kilometers when fully charged and fueled.\nThe updated P7+ lineup supports 5C fast charging, enabling an 80% charge from 0 in just 12 minutes.\nThe sedan features a single-motor rear-wheel-drive configuration across all trims, with the motor delivering a peak power of 180 kW (241 horsepower). It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in either 5.9 or 6.9 seconds.\nG7 EREV\nXpeng has added EREV options for the G7 while adjusting its available BEV variants.\nThe G7 EREV offers two configurations, both with a 430-km battery range. With a full tank and fully charged battery, the combined range reaches 1,704 km. Xpeng said this makes it the world's longest-range SUV.\nThe G7 BEV also offers two variants -- 602 Max and 702 Max -- starting at RMB 195,800 and RMB 205,800 respectively.\nOriginally launched on July 3, 2025, the G7 previously offered three variants: 602 Max, 702 Max, and 702 Ultra. The top-tier 702 Ultra variant, priced at RMB 225,800, has been discontinued.\nThe two G7 BEV variants offer CLTC ranges of 602 km and 702 km respectively.\nAll G7 models feature single-motor rear-wheel drive, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5–6.9 seconds.\n2026 G6\n\nThe 2026 G6 remains available only as a BEV, despite Xpeng filing for an EREV option of the SUV in October 2025.\nThe updated G6 offers two variants starting at RMB 176,800 and RMB 186,800 respectively.\nSimilar to the G7 BEV, the updated G6 discontinues the previous generation's highest-priced Ultra variant, while prices for available variants remain unchanged.\nThe updated G6 comes standard with the Turing AI chip and allows customers to optionally upgrade to the Ultra SE or Ultra system, consistent with other models.
