CMB.TECH Sells Eight Vessels for Capital Gains of $261 Million; Shares Rise

CMB.TECH (CMBT) said Wednesday it has sold eight vessels, resulting in a capital gain of approximately $269.2 million.

It sold six very large crude carrier vessels, or VLCCs, for a capital gain of about $261.1 million in the first quarter of 2026. The vessels will be delivered to the buyer in Q1 2026, the company said.

It also sold two capesize vessels that will generate a capital gain of about $8.1 million in Q1 2026. These vessels have been delivered to the new owners in January 2026.

The proceeds from these sales will be utilized for the repayment of current debt facilities and it intends to distribute 50% of the profit of these sales, the company said.

Shares of the company rose 8.35% in recent Wednesday trading.
