Dow Jones01-08

1248 ET - Footwear executives feel cautiously optimistic about the direction of the industry, according to the Footwear Distributors & Retailers of America's 4Q executive survey. The trade group says metrics point to an improving outlook for the industry over the first half of 2026, with the highest share in 4 quarters seeing their company health improving over the next 6 months. Alarm about tariffs in seems to be waning, the survey says, however "government meddling remains respondents' biggest issue over the next 6 months, but this share fell in Q4 to a 5-quarter low of just 36%."
