Germany's Premier DAX Index Passes 25000 Mark for First Time -- Market Talk

1310 GMT - Germany's premier index passed the 25000 mark for the first time, joining other markets to hit new record levels this year so far. The DAX index is currently up around 0.7% at 25056.91, lead by the energy and real estate sectors, which are up 2.4% and 2.2%, respectively. The index has been on the rise for the past six days, closing at a new record of 24892.20 Tuesday. London's FTSE 100 index passed the 10000 mark briefly for the first time on Friday and closed at a new record of 10122.73 Tuesday. The STOXX Europe 600 also closed at a new record of 605.28 on Tuesday. (ian.walker@wsj.com)
