UBS Upgrades Chili's Owner Brinker, Cuts Sweetgreen -- Market Talk

Dow Jones01-07

1520 ET - UBS feels a bit more constructive on Chili's owner Brinker, which it upgrades to buy from neutral, as it expects the company's industry-leading sales growth to continue. The firm offers a number of reasons for the move, including strong leadership, ongoing execution and more levers it can pull, including menu upgrades, to drive sales. It also thinks that Brinker can capture some potential stimulus benefits. At the same time, Sweetgreen gets a cut to neutral from buy, in part as the firm sees ongoing pressure on younger consumers, slower store growth and margin pressure. Brinker shares rise 5%, while Sweetgreen adds 3.2%. (amira.mckee@wsj.com)
