CareTrust REIT has made a number of promotions and leadership hires, including moving Derek Bunker into the role of chief financial officer.

The executive changes were unveiled as the real estate investment trust also said it bought six nursing facilities located in the Mid-Atlantic for about $142 million, including transaction costs.

Bunker has been senior vice president of strategy and investor relations since last June, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Bill Wagner has been CareTrust REIT's CFO and principal accounting officer since the company's inception in 2014, CareTrust's website says.

Additionally, the company said that among other moves it has promoted Joe Layne to senior vice president of corporate counsel and Rory Williams to senior vice president of portfolio management and hired Emily Meckler as finance director and Dan Chin as vice president of data and analytics.
