BEIJING, Jan 5 (Reuters) - Chinese Premier Li Qiang called for the country to expand imports and promote balanced trade during a recent trip to the southern Chinese province of Guangdong, an economic and export powerhouse, state broadcaster CCTV reported Monday.
In his three-day trips starting January 3 across several cities, Li visited ports and companies including Chinese carmaker BYD 002594.SZ and a unit under home appliance maker Midea 000333.SZ.
Li said it was necessary to improve support for companies in terms of policies, funds and talents to achieve more breakthroughs in emerging fields and core technologies, according to CCTV.
