BYD (HKG:1211, SHE:002594) has introduced a new sub-brand, Linghui, to rebrand selected models for fleet operators and ride-hailing services, Bloomberg News reported Friday.

Under the lineup, the Qin PLUS will reportedly be marketed as the Linghui e5, while the Xia DM-i multi-purpose vehicle will be rebadged as the M9, based on vehicle filings and images released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Thursday.

A variant of BYD's flagship Han electric sedan will be sold as the Linghui e9, the report said.

Chinese auto industry publications, including Yiche, said Linghui is expected to serve as a platform for established BYD models repurposed for fleet and mobility use cases, Bloomberg added.
