Constellation Brands Modifying Prices, Sizes to Draw Cautious Consumers -- Market Talk

Dow Jones01-09

1145 ET - Constellation Brands is finding success bringing down pricing and package sizes to cater to strained consumers, according to Chief Executive Bill Newlands on an analyst call. Newlands says the company has brought prices for Modelo Oro and Corona Premier more in line with what consumers expect for light beers, which has led to improving sales trends. The company has also added 7-ounce options to "meet the needs of consumers who are concerned about price points because of their socioeconomic concerns," Newlands says. "All of those things are trying to meet the consumer where they are today." (nicholas.miller@wsj.com)
