Mercedes-Benz Expected to Adapt to Uneven Demand -- Market Talk

Dow Jones01-12

0820 GMT - Mercedes-Benz is likely to execute a decisive pivot for 2026 and 2027 that leverages its core strengths while adapting to uneven regional demand, JPMorgan analysts write. The bank sees an aggressive EV-led refresh peaking in 2026, while the automaker is also expected to focus on stabilizing its business model in China, which involves restructuring the dealer network in the region. The company should continue tackling the cost base in Europe and China, target more cars in different segments, and continue to rightsize its European production footprint. The bank lifts its price target to 70 euros from 68 euros and reiterates its overweight rating for the stock. Shares fall 0.4% to 60.11 euros. (dominic.chopping@wsj.com)
