Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) has entered a new partnership with Alterra, under which the bank is committing $250 million as a proposed strategic limited partnership to a new $1.2 billion climate co-investment vehicle, the companies said Thursday.
Once approved, the fund will be launched and managed by Alterra and be domiciled in Abu Dhabi.
The Alterra Opportunity Fund will explore a global investment strategy across climate-aligned infrastructure, private equity and private credit, the companies said.
