JL Mag Rare-Earth to See Minimal Impact From China-Japan Dispute -- Market Talk

Dow Jones01-13

0902 GMT - The China-Japan dispute will likely have little impact on JL Mag Rare-Earth, Citi analysts say in a note, after it a hosted a call with management. China last week said it banned a list of dual-use items to Japan that could have military applications, including certain rare earth metals. All of JL Mag's products are for civilian use and export revenue only accounts for only 18% of total sales, management said, adding that its Japan exposure is very small. Meanwhile, management expects rare earths prices to remain stable or modestly rise during the year, noting that they believe costs are manageable. Shares closed 2.2% lower at HK$21.62.
