Malaysian Shares Snap Five-Day Winning Streak on Profit Taking

Malaysian stocks ended slightly lower on Friday, ending the five-day winning streak on profit-taking activities.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI shed 2.42 points to end 0.1% lower at 1,712.74. The day range was between 1,708.03 and 1,721.48.

In economic news, Malaysia's gross domestic product is estimated to grow 5.7% in the fourth quarter of 2025, faster than the 5.2% expansion in the previous quarter, according to advance estimates released by the country's statistics department.

In corporate news, shares of Genting Plantations (KLSE:GENP) slid over 1% on Friday's close after its unit Susantri Permai, received an interim notice from Indonesia's Forest Area Enforcement Task Force imposing an administrative fine of 396 billion Indonesian rupiah.

Wawasan Dengkil Holdings (KLSE:DENGKIL) unit Wawasan Dengkil signed a memorandum of understanding with Kester to explore strategic collaboration in renewable energy and green technology projects in Kedah, Malaysia. Shares ended flat today.
