Canadian Natural Resources (CNQ) is in discussions to acquire a portfolio of natural gas properties in Alberta's Peace River region from Tourmaline Oil, Globe and Mail reported Wednesday, citing two sources familiar with the negotiations.
Canadian Natural is seeking preliminary regulatory feedback on the potential acquisition of the Tourmaline assets, the sources said.
According to a recent notification involving merger reviews published by Canada's Competition Bureau, Canadian Natural submitted a filing for the approval of a transaction with Tourmaline.
Canadian Natural and Tourmaline did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
