Eni (E) and its partners, China National Petroleum, ENH, KOGAS and XRG said Friday they have launched the hull of the Coral North floating liquefied natural gas facility, in line with the project schedule.

Coral North will be the second such unit deployed in the Rovuma Basin offshore north of Mozambique and will produce gas from the northern section of the Coral reservoir.

The project is targeted for completion by 2028, the company said, adding that it will have a liquefaction capacity of 3.6 million tons per year, doubling Mozambique's LNG output to 7 MTPA.
