Shares of Silver Mining Companies Rise as Spot Rate Surpasses $90 an Ounce

Shares of silver mining companies were up in Wednesday premarket activity, as the price of the metal surpassed the $90 per ounce.

Hecla Mining (HL) shares were up 3.3%, while Endeavour Silver (EXK) and First Majestic Silver (AG) rose 2.5% and 2.9%, respectively.

Coeur Mining (CDE) stock was 3.2% higher, and Silvercorp Metals (SVM) shares were up 2.3%, while Teck Resources (TECK) was up 1% and Wheaton Precious Metals (WPM) shares were up 1.7% in recent premarket activity.

The spot rate is currently trading at $91.14 an ounce.
