1537 ET - GLP-1 medications haven't seemed to make a dent on restaurant demand so far, but that could change as the drugs become cheaper and more widely accessible, Bank of America analysts write in a note. GLP-1 use has been concentrated among older and more affluent consumers that also tend to be the biggest spenders. "That said, the wider appeal and lower costs of recently introduced pills could tilt the balance," the analysts write, projecting that the impact could be most significant for quick-service restaurants. So far, the only restaurant company to report a demand effect from GLP-1s has been Darden Restaurants, they write. (elias.schisgall@wsj.com)
