Ericsson (ERIC) said Thursday it has proposed about 1,600 job cuts in Sweden to reduce costs.
The company has submitted a notice to the Swedish Public Employment Service regarding its planned move and initiated negotiations with trade unions, it said.
"Initiatives to increase operational efficiency will continue across the group but will not be announced separately," the company said.
Shares were 1.3% higher in premarket trade.
