Italian Steelmaker Seeks $8.17 Billion in Damages From ArcelorMittal, Financial Times Says

-- Italian state-appointed administrators of Acciaierie d'Italia's steelworks have sued former owner ArcelorMittal for 7 billion euros ($8.17 billion) in damages, the Financial Times said on Monday.

-- Acciaierie d'Italia is seeking compensation for what it alleges was ArcelorMittal's mismanagement of the steelworks, formerly known as Ilva, the FT said, citing a complaint filed with a Milan court this month.

-- The Luxembourg-based group didn't immediately respond to a request for comment to FT, while Acciaierie d'Italia declined to comment.
