JPMorgan Says Debit, Credit Sales Volume Trends Remain Strong -- Market Talk

0904 ET - JPMorgan CFO Jeremy Barnum says the bank is monitoring for any signs of economic stress, but currently, consumers and small businesses remain resilient. "Despite weak consumer sentiment, trends in our data are largely consistent with historical norms, and we are not currently seeing deterioration across income groups," he says on an analyst call. Debit and credit sales volume continue to perform well, he adds, up 7% year-on-year. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
