Supreme Court Upholds Prison Sentences for Former Executives of Choice Unit

MT Newswires Live01-15

Choice Development (TPE:9929) said a Supreme Court ruling has upheld prison sentences for former executives of its unit, Omni Media, over fraudulent promissory notes.

Former Omni Media head Li Chengxuan and his spouse Xie Zhuoye, along with ex-executive Su Shuyin, were previously convicted in the Taipei District Court.

The case stems from a NT$270 million investment by Choice Development in Omni Media in 2018, according to a Thursday Taiwan Exchange filing.

The dispute involved promissory notes totaling about NT$126.7 million that were allegedly issued without actual debt, leading to losses.

The ruling will not affect the company's finances or operations, it said.
