Shake Shack Expects Continued Beef Inflation -- Market Talk

Dow Jones01-13

1413 ET - Shake Shack expects high beef prices to continue this year, but will still be able to improve its margins, Chief Executive Robert Lynch says during a conference. "We're forecasting continued elevated levels of pricing on beef," he says. At the same time, the company expects to benefit from some deflation on some of its other input costs, as well as productivity gains from changes in its supply chain and operations, he says. "We feel really confident despite that inflation that we can continue to improve margin without having negative impacts," he says. (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
