Energy Up With Oil, Natural Gas Futures -- Energy Roundup

Shares of energy companies rose alongside energy futures amid geopolitical tensions and cooling weather.

Oil futures rose for the third straight session, adding 0.6% to $59.50 a barrel.

The White House is weighing a last-ditch Iranian offer to engage in diplomacy over curbing its nuclear program even as President Trump currently leans toward authorizing fresh military strikes on a nation embroiled in popular protest, U.S. officials said. Crackdowns on the Iranian protest have grown increasingly brutal.

Natural-gas futures rallied, adding 7% after weather forecasts in much of the U.S. suggested unseasonable warmth would soon disappear.
