Treasury Yields Rise in Range-Bound Market -- Market Talk

Dow Jones01-16

0953 ET - Treasury yields are floating higher Friday morning, but trading has remained strictly range bound since early December as traders seek a direction. "Market participants remain focused on the prevailing trading range in U.S. rates and what potential catalysts could reprice the market," BMO's Ian Lyngen writes in a note to clients. Lyngen says that the biggest potential wild cards lurk in geopolitics, White House policy developments and the Supreme Court. The 10-year yield is near 4.193%, versus 4.159% Thursday, and the 2-year yield is at 3.576%, up from 3.563% Thursday. (matt.grossman@wsj.com; @mattgrossman)
