Notably, the system remains open along strike and at depth, strengthening the case for a substantial, near-surface copper discovery.Standout results from the exploration campaign included 74 metres at 0.49 per cent copper, 0.01 per cent cobalt and 1.7 grams per tonne silver from 136m, headlined by higher-grade zones such as 18m at 0.88 per cent copper and a sharp 3-metre hit running 3.44 per cent copper.True North says the intercepts suggest a near-vertical mineralised system with meaningful thickness and continuity across multiple drill sections.Away from Aquila, drilling confirmed Acanthis – another of True North’s prospects - as a parallel mineralised trend, delivering 18 metres at 0.10 per cent copper, 16 parts per million (ppm) cobalt and 0.2 g/t silver from 202 metres, boosting confidence in the potential across the broader 10-kilometre-long Mt Oxide corridor.These Mt Oxide results demonstrate the scale and robustness of the Aquila system, while early drilling at Acanthis confirms the broader discovery potential of the district and validates our regional geophysical model. True North Copper managing director Andrew MooneyMt Oxide’s mineralisation is shaping up as a steeply dipping, structurally controlled copper-silver-cobalt system hosted within sub-vertical shear zones along major fault corridors. The copper tends to show up as sulphides packed into fractured, hard quartzites – the kind of geology that often underpins big, long-lived systems.Importantly, copper mineralisation includes hypogene chalcocite, a high-copper sulphide that can persist over hundreds of metres vertically, rather than being restricted to shallow supergene caps. This hypogene chalcocite signature is considered highly favourable, as it supports the potential for thick, high-grade copper zones to extend well beyond current drilling depths.The wider Mt Oxide district sits in a structurally tangled part of the world-class Mt Isa Inlier, where breccias, major faults and iron-rich gossans have long acted as conduits for copper-silver-cobalt mineralisation. It is also in serious mining country, hosting historic producers such as Monakoff and the Great Australia mine, both now back in the exploration spotlight.Exploration boss Barry Jones says Mt Oxide is a rare opportunity to systematically unlock a high-grade copper district that has seen little modern exploration. The phase two results have boosted confidence in the geometry, thickness and continuity of the mineralisation as the company assesses how Mt Oxide may complement its Cloncurry copper project.Planning is now underway for a fully funded 2026 exploration program, including diamond drilling, to be followed by targeted RC step-out drilling focused on extending mineralisation at depth and along strike. True North says it also plans to expand IP coverage across multiple trends and test priority targets along the broader 10km-plus structural corridor.Mt Oxide sits 140 kilometres north of Glencore’s Mt Isa copper concentrator and smelter, providing enviable infrastructure leverage.
