ADP Reports U.S. Private Employers Added 8,000 Jobs Per Week in December

ADP - Automatic Data Processing (ADP) Inc. reported that for the four weeks ending December 27, 2025, U.S. private employers added an average of 8,000 jobs per week, according to preliminary estimates from the NER Pulse.

The data showed a modest slowdown in hiring in the last week of 2025. The four-week moving average of employment changes was 8,000 for the week ending December 27, 2025, compared to 11,250 for the week ending December 20, 2025, and 10,250 for the week ending December 13, 2025.

Earlier weeks showed fluctuations, with a low of -11,750 for the week ending November 8, 2025, and a high of 13,250 for the week ending November 29, 2025. These numbers are preliminary and subject to revision as new data becomes available. The NER Pulse, based on ADP’s seasonally adjusted, high-frequency data, is updated weekly with a two-week data lag.
