Huaneng Power International (HKG:0902, SHA:600011) said the electricity sold by its operating power plants within China declined 3.4% to 437.6 billion kilowatt hours from a year earlier, according to a Hong Kong filing on Saturday.
The power company's Hong Kong shares slipped less than 2% during Monday's afternoon trade.
The decline was attributed to an increase in new energy power generation amid the displacement of coal-fired generation.
For the fourth quarter of 2025, the electricity sold fell 5% year on year to 106.1 billion kWh.
