Hong Kong Company Registrations Hit Record High in 2025

Hong Kong registered 195,343 new local and re-domiciled companies in 2025, according to data released by the Companies Registry on Jan. 16.

By year-end, the total number of such companies rose by 96,609 from 2024 to a record 1,557,103.

A total of 1,532 non-Hong Kong companies newly established a place of business in the city in 2025.

The company re-domiciliation regime, introduced in May 2025, saw strong uptake. By year-end, the Registry had received over 420 enquiries and 30 applications, with six overseas-incorporated companies successfully re-domiciling to Hong Kong.
