** Shares of 3M Co MMM.N are down 1.48% on Fri, with the industrial co due to report higher rev and EPS in its qtrly results, due before the bell on Tues

** Analysts expect Q4 rev for MMM of $6.01 bln vs $5.81 bln a yr ago, and EPS of $1.80 vs $1.68 a yr ago, according to LSEG

** The co's median 12-mo PT is $180, with the stock last at $168.56

** Analyst ratings on the stock include 10 "strong buy" or "buy" ratings, nine "hold" ratings and one "sell" rating, per LSEG

** In October, 3M raised its annual profit forecast, driven by cost-cutting measures and a shift toward high-margin products

** 3M shares are up 5.2% YTD, compared with a roughly 3% gain in the Dow Jones industrial average .DJI

** The S&P 500 industrials index .SPLRCI has hit record closing highs this week and is up about 7.5% YTD, outperforming the benchmark S&P 500's 1.6% YTD gain

** Options imply a 4.5% swing in either direction for MMM shares on Tuesday, according to options analytics service ORATS; that's below the 6.8% average move the stock has logged on the day of results over past 12 quarters
