Health care stocks were steady pre-bell Friday, with the iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) inactive and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) slightly declining.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries said it has received approval from the Drugs Controller General of India to make and market a generic version of the semaglutide injection for chronic weight management. Semaglutide is the active ingredient in Novo Nordisk's (NVO) popular Wegovy and Ozempic drugs. Novo Nordisk stock was up more than 1% premarket.
