Worley (ASX:WOR) was awarded a contract by Cadent Gas to provide front-end engineering design (FEED) and development consent order (DCO) services for the H2East Pipeline from Humber to Nottinghamshire in the UK, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The company will provide project management, integration, engineering, and design expertise to advance the pipeline's development, which will transport low-carbon hydrogen across the North East, Humber, Yorkshire, and East Midlands, per the filing.
The project aims to produce up to 11 gigawatts of hydrogen, supporting industries such as steel, chemicals, and power generation, with operations set to start in 2033, the filing added.
The company's shares fell 1% in recent Wednesday trade.
