MT Newswires Live01-21

Alibaba Group Holding (BABA) recently established an electricity generation joint venture worth about 250 million Chinese renminbi ($35.9 million) with China National Nuclear Power and other partners, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing data on corporate database Tianyancha.

Although the registration documents detailed energy generation and other areas of cooperation, they didn't specify the exact scope of the partnership or operations, the news outlet reported.

Alibaba didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

The company's shares were up 3% in recent premarket activity.
