MT Newswires Live01-21

Keysight Technologies (KEYS) said Tuesday it is collaborating with Airbus on the UpNext SpaceRAN demonstrator to advance 5G non-terrestrial networks using software-defined satellite technology.

Keysight said it will supply ground-based test services, including satellite and user segment emulation, to validate 5G NTN use cases such as beam and gateway handovers and terrestrial-satellite mobility management.

The project will culminate with a regenerative payload on an Airbus Low Earth Orbit satellite, featuring on-board signal processing and an integrated gNodeB for flexible space-based network operations, it added.

Keysight Technologies shares were up 0.3% in recent trading.
