Baidu Likely Resumed Sequential Revenue Growth in 4Q -- Market Talk

Dow Jones01-21 14:24

0624 GMT - Baidu is likely to have resumed sequential revenue growth in 4Q, DBS Group Research analysts write in a note. Earnings were likely to have received support from a narrower on-year decline in online advertising and robust artificial-intelligence cloud infrastructure revenue growth. Compute intensity and demand from its AI chip unit, Kunlunxin, are also likely to have risen in 4Q. These factors are likely to have led to an on-quarter improvement in gross profit and non-GAAP operating profit. DBS maintains a buy rating on Baidu's stock, but raises the target price for its H shares to HK$206 from HK$175, and for its ADRs to US$211 from US$177. Baidu's H shares are last at HK$153.60, while its ADRs closed at $150.02. (amanda.lee@wsj.com)
