** Dow .DJI off 0.5%, Nasdaq Composite .IXIC edges down 0.1%

** S&P 500's 50-DMA gives way Tues, but quick reversal on Weds puts the benchmark back above it

** This as Nasdaq's 100-DMA once again proves resilient, leads to bounce off lows

** Small caps have been hot, though cool off on Fri, Russell 2000 .RUT / SPX ratio ends 14-day win streak

** U.S. 10-Year Treasury yield US10YT=RR hits 4.313%, highest since Aug, before deflating back to 4.23% area, roughly flat for the week

Regional bank shares jump on earnings, outshine broader financials

For the week, S&P 500 banks index .SPXBK sheds 2.9%, while KBW regional banking index .KRX ticks down 0.1%

** Real Estate .SPLRCR drops 2.4%. Warehouse-focused REIT Prologis PLD.N ticks up on Weds after Q4 rev beat, yet PLD retreats ~5% on the week

** Utilities .SPLRCU sag 2%. Power producers including Constellation Energy CEG.O and Vistra VST.N fall as grid operator PJM unveils plan to curb power demand surge from data centers

** Industrials .SPLRCI off 1.6%. Street View: GE Aerospace GE.N engines build a bullish runway. However, stock tanks ~10% for the week

** Tech .SPLRCT down 0.8%. Intel INTC.O tumbles 17% on Fri after Q1 forecast disappoints as it struggles to meet AI chip demand

Semiconductor index .SOX lifts 0.4%

** Healthcare .SPXHC up 1.1%. Moderna MRNA.O rises ~17% on week as cancer vaccine shows long-term benefit in melanoma study

** Communication Services .SPLRCL add 1.1%. However, Netflix NFLX.O slips as Warner Bros Discovery WBD.O deal concerns outweigh Q4 beat

** Materials .SPLRCM strengthen 2.6%. Gold miners such as Newmont NEM.N rise as safe-haven gold XAU= nears $5,000/ounce, driven by Greenland-related geopolitical tensions and weaker dollar

Gold/Silver mining index .XAU surges 10%

** Energy .SPNY jumps 3.1%. Natgas firms including Expand Energy EXE.O and EQT Corp EQT.N gain as futures soar as extreme cold weather seen boosting heating demand
